Key Terminology

Yale Dataverse: A data repository service for Yale University faculty, staff, students, and affiliates to share, preserve, and cite research data.

Sub-dataverse: A container for datasets and other collections, which can be setup for individual researchers, departments, journals and organizations. 

Dataset: A set of files that can include materials such as research data, code, documentation, and metadata. 

File: An individual digital object that is uploaded as part of a dataset.
